About

Hi! I’m Jenkulele, a solo singer and ʻukulele player based in Bourne, Lincolnshire. I’m available for all your chilled out, live music needs.

I have a background in classical music and had lessons on both the piano and the classical guitar from a young age. Along the way, I also taught myself to play the flute and alto saxophone. I’ve also been known to dabble with the bass guitar when the need arises! I love experimenting with different instruments and would learn them all if I could, but there just aren’t enough hours in the day!

In more recent years, I’ve also come to realise just how much I love to sing – in the shower, in the car, pottering around the house, out on a walk, basically anytime, anywhere, I provide my own constant soundtrack! (Annoying, I know!) So, in 2016, I decided I wanted to play an instrument I could sing along to. (Yes, I could use the piano or the guitar for this, but not in the ways in which I’ve learned to play them!) I decided to take up the ʻukulele – it’s such pretty instrument and I love how the sound of the ʻuke transports me to sunnier climes. I’m really glad I did, because I feel like the ʻuke is a great fit for me and suits my preferred performance style of gentle, acoustic, easy listening music.

I have a varied repertoire of country, pop, rock, indie and folk style cover songs from artists such as Dolly Parton, Lainey Wilson, Norah Jones, The Beach Boys, David Essex, The Beatles, Elvis and many more.

If you’re interested in booking me to perform at a future event, please get in touch via the contact form on the home page, or email me at jenkulele@gmail.com and I’ll get back to you.
